St. Louis River State Water Trail

The St. Louis River begins near Hoyt Lakes, Minnesota and flows through Superior National Forest into Wisconsin, finally reaching Lake Superior. The St. Louis River watershed is large, covering 3,650 square miles. The lower St. Louis is the only river in the state with whitewater rafting opportunities. This fast moving river creates rapids that are recommended for the experienced paddler only.
